Satire Writing

Dear Donald J Trump,

Before I say anything I just want to say that I hope your microphone gets fixed.
I also want to congratulate you for being the best U.S president there is and ever was.
You are such an amazing president and this is why. One thing that I love about you is
how you cut people off when they try to talk, it’s really respectful!

Dear some kiwis supporters,
I just want to congratulate you for your team's effort against England, Australia and Tonga.
I know you guys didn't get the results that you wanted but I wanted to let you know that you
are still the best Rugby League Team that there ever is and ever was. One of the things I
like about you is when your supporters swear at the oppositions supporters kids it’s really
nice to hear. Another thing I love about your supporters is that you guys like to boo one of
your own captains (Adam Blair), it shows so much loyalty and its really respectful.

Inquiry Rubric

Lady Pink was raised while the feminist strike was happening. While growing up the feminist raid inspired her to do something about it and then she decided that it was going to be art. When she became an artist she based her art on how females can do what males can do just as well or even better.

Her artwork contains bright colours because of how happy she would like to be and how happy is the emotion that they would like to express from her drawings. Her texture is abstract, that expresses her background coming from a graffiti perspective of art. Females are the shapes she normally uses or she makes what she draws into a female. Attitude Talk!

On the 17th of October Tony from the company, Attitude helped the year 7&8's from Pt England School to be more aware of puberty both physically and emotionally. Although it was awkward us as young adults had to be mature and focus on why Tony was here. In this piece of writing I will be telling you my favourite part from his presentation and what I have learnt from his awesome talk.

One of his first points was about how our bodies change. He told us not to worry about these changes because of how common these changes are. I really liked this part of the talk because of how he presented his points and how he told us that he can relate to what is happening to our bodies at this age. Part of the boy change part he reminded us that we can talk to older people just like our mum and dad's. He said not to be scared of opening up because they will most likely have more information or tips on how to feel more comfortable about these changes.

I have learnt to be more comfortable talking to adults about these changes. Another thing that I have learnt is the actual changes of the body and to remain calm when these things happen. I would like to say thank you to the Attitude company for this amazing talk, I have learnt loads and am looking forward to the next talk on Friday.

Why Sloths Are So Lazy

Once upon a time before the dinosaurs were born. The well known Sloth was racing against Tiger and Lion on a long, handmade race course. The race was as tight as a knot but Sloth was slightly in front, towards the finish line were two baby Cheetahs cheering on. As the three competitors were running Tiger fell into a dark, deep hole dug by Humans. However Lion and Sloth carried on with the race. Getting closer and closer sloth gained his lead, but then out of nowhere… BANG! Human shot lion in the side of his stomach with a strange looking weapon. Sloth ran over with desperation, Blood was everywhere. Sloth screamed “Lion! Lion are you alright?” Lions eyes closed softly, sadly his life had been taken. Sloth ran back home with his eyes covered in tears and his fear rising higher and higher.

While Sloth was running he made a promise that he will avenge Lion in any way he can. As he was running he bumped into a wizard, he claimed that he could bring anyone to life. Sloth begged him to bring Lion back “Please! I’ll do anything” He cried. The Wizard said he’ll bring him back only if he takes sloths speed away. Sloth took a long think and agreed. Wizard made Lion come back to life and Sloth never ran fast again.

Rewriting a song

I get my kicks from watching people
Running too and fro
And if you ask them where they're going
Half of the don't know
They're the ones who think I'm crazy
But they don't realize
That I'm just groovin', groovin'
Grooving out on life
I'm just groovin' ooh grovin'

Grovin' till I die

Go out for kicks to boost my stamina

Running too and fro

And if you ask me why I exercise

Most of them don’t know

You’re the ones who think i’m crazy

But you don’t realize

That i'm just healthy, oh healthy

Healthy all the time

Our task was to rewrite a song with words that
are about how exercise benefits our human
brains and how they can affect the way we learn.

Problem Solving

  1. $375 + $127 = $502
          $300 + $100 = $400
          $75 + $27 = $102
          $400 + $102 = $502

    2. 659 + 196 = 855
        600 + 100 = 700
        50 + 90 = 140
        9 + 6 = 15
        700 + 140 + 15 = 855

   3. $4500 - $2842 = $1658
        2842 + 1158 = 4000
        4000 + 500 = 4500
        1158 + 500 = 1658

   4. 947 - 632 = 315
       632 + 300 = 932
       932 + 15 = 947
       300 + 15 = 315

   5. $237 + $1254 = 1491
        200 + 1200 = 1400
        37 + 54 = 91

    6. 1683 - 387 = 1296
        387 + 1000 = 1387
        1387 + 200 = 1587
        1587 + 13 = 1600
        1600 + 83 = 1683
        1000 + 200 + 13 + 83 = 1296
     7. 1693 - 573 = 1120
         573 + 427 = 1000
         1000 + 600 = 1600
         1600 + 93 = 1693

     8. 9463 - 3853 = 5610
         3853 + 5000 = 8853
         8853 + 147 = 9000
         9000 + 400 = 9400

         9400 + 63 = 9463

What is a function and a loop?

Today the yr 7&8 extension group had a task to learn and understand what a function and loop meant in coding. While trying to learn it we got to dance to show examples of what these are. Heres what I learnt.

A function is a piece of code that you can easily call over and over again. It includes the specific steps performed in the function.

A loop is a repetitive action or command typically created with programming loops.

Visual Mihi

This is my Visual Mihi. Our task was to draw 4 things that are most important and the things we love the most. I have always supported the Sydney Roosters because I love all of the players in the team. Tonga and Samoa have had a lot of problems with each other because dumb reasons, to fix this
community's from Tonga and Samoa created Tokouso witch is a sign to stop the violence between the 2 country's. Being a Christian is a big part of my life because the Lord will always be apart of my life no matter what. Last of all is my Family. I am the eldest of 5 and the only boy out of my
4 siblings. I love my family very much and we have a very strong bond. I hope you enjoy my drawing and leave a comment below.

Yesterday's Training for the Biggest Loser

As you know from my last blog post that the Pakalani and Tui family will be attempting the Biggest Loser Challenge, the Pakalani family train every day together and challenges themselves to do their very best in all of the exercises they do. If we don't train until 7.00pm we train in the Garage, where my dad and I run the boxing station and rotate the second station is running up and down the street until it's time to rotate. If before 7.00pm we watch and follow a cardio session on youtube.

Yesterday at 6.00pm the Pakalani family watched and followed the 30 minute cardio session video. As we started the warmup I told myself that I have to go hard the whole session and I have to push myself to the limit. After the warmup, we did 1 burpee and instead of jumping up we did high knees for 5 seconds we did this exercise for 1 minute.

It's 15 minutes in, I 'm really starting to feel a stitch about to pop up but I still push to the best of my ability. As the 15th minute finishes up we finally get a break, and I'm exhausted I hardly can breathe and I'm still telling myself to push. As the break finishes the fitness instructor tells us to sprint on the spot. When we sprint on the spot I feel like stopping but my mind told me to run faster, so I do. I run the hardest i've ever run in a long time. With the sweat dripping on to the carpet I start to run faster, and faster and the times up.

When the workout session finishes we stretch for 5-10 minutes. As the stretch session finishes, we all lie down and congratulate each other for the great cardio session that we had. In the last blog post, I told you that I weighed in at 62.5. Right now I weigh 59.2. I am extremely proud of me and my family for the weight loss over a couple of weeks. Thank you for reading my blog post and hope that you enjoyed it.  Leave a positive comment on how you think me and my family are doing and maybe some tips for weight loss quicker.

Pakalani & Tui's Biggest Loser Challenge

On the 1st of January, the Pakalani and Tui family met at my nana's house. To celebrate a New Year, to celebrate the Birthday of my twin cousins and to set a new goal. The both of the Pakalani and Tui family will be participating in the Biggest Loser Challenge, The adults will face each other and so will the kids under 15 years of age. As most of you know I am under 15 and will be participating in the Kids Pool. If you didn't know what the Biggest Loser Challenge is, it's a challenge to see who loses the most weight in a certain amount of time. The Winner of the Adults Pool will win $100 and the winner of the Kids Pool win $50.

As I woke up, I heard my mum call me from her room to my room, "Son get ready and come down!" Straight away I knew what I was getting ready for. The Biggest Feed and The Biggest Loser. When we arrived at my nana's house we all said "Happy New Year" to each other. As I walked through the garage door I see my twin cousins, so I ran over to them and whispered "Happy Birthday and Happy New Year." After I whispered to my cousins I sniffed and smelt the last BBQ I'll have in a long time, because of the diet me and my families will be on.

After we mucked around for a little, the food was finally ready. I was glad and gutted because I was starving and because that's the last unhealthy food I'll have in a long time. I ate as much as I could. After the feed, we relaxed and reflected on the up's and downs of 2017. As we were talking they called us one by one to weigh ourself's.

I weighed last and was weighed in at 62.5, my aim is to get under 55.1 by the end of April to get myself healthy I have to start eating healthier and to start to be more active, fitness wise and home wise. I need to make the weight of The Varsity Rugby u13 Team. My family and I will be training hard and will be supporting one another as the Biggest Loser Challenge goes on. Thank You for reading my blog post. Leave a positive comment down below. Maybe advice to lose weight faster.
